Day 14 (I think) at Sea:

A very very short blog today!!

JDAY 008

Weather: Flat calm!! nice and smooth!!
Distance Travelled Today: 129 Miles
Total Distance Travelled: 2231 Miles
Activity: CTDing
Sea Temperature:0.8•C
Air Temperature:-2•C

Well Day 14. hmmm, what can I actually say?!! The weather was awful but there’s no point in grumbling – it’s just as bad in the UK and I don’t think that I will get any sympathy from those back home!! Today was a really busy day with lots and lots to do with regards to IT – which I know you guys aren’t really interested in! So most of the day was spent working on Sheldon’s processing machine and making sure he had access to all the scientific data we are collecting! CTDing and sampling went on. I worked on lots of other IT issues and got up-to-speed on lots of little jobs that I had been planning.

In the evening we saw a truly huge tabular berg – probably the biggest so far! At first it looked like an island stretching over the horizon!

I’m sorry today’s entry is so short! It’s a bit manic and my job comes first!!! Tomorrow’s entry will defiantly have a lot more images and information – we have had a busy and interesting day and some of you will love to see the pictures that we have taken….. but I’ll leave you in suspense!

All the best

Leighton
